again its been so long since ive used this thing. and again so much has changed. ive been skating for assault city, ive been happy. its weird. but ive jumped into something a little on the weird side for me. the dating world. i meet people and have been out on actual dates, not just "hi i like you, we are now a couple" things. its weird to me and its had its ups and downs. i dated someone for 2 months, maybe longer, then out of nowhere he stopped talking to me. i looked up his twitter just to see what he was up to and from the looks of it, he was confused when i stopped texting him (keep in mind i had sent him about 5 texts with no response so i stopped) at another point in time i started talking to this guitarist for a local band. i should have known better with that one, guitarists and i dont tend to work out. we talked for weeks, made plans to meet up, then again, out of no where contact stopped. this is the thing im learning about dating as an adult rather than in school. you can just stop talking and it goes away with out guilt i guess. its made me less concerned about the whole thing. if things happen and work out then its awesome, if not, then its not a huge loss because clearly those people are jerks. aside from the jerks, this experience has caused me to realize just who i am. its funny that when you cut out the jerks who keep you down you learn that you are strong, beautiful and powerful in your own ways.theres always someone else who will notice these things. im pretty sure derby has helped with that as well, even if im not the best at it. thats it till i remember this exists again

concert season

its concert season for me, the time of year where i spend far too much money on too many shows.

this year is special, i have a giant road trip, a small road trip, a drive down the street, and then ending it in phili where i will once again see katatonia *with opeth

first show is july 9th in long island, sound garden with coheed and cambria, queens of the stone age, meat puppets, mars volta and mastadon

july 30th is krockathon featuring bush, stone temple pilots and drop kick murphys

august 5-7th ill be in chicago for lollapalooza to see foo fighters and a bunch of other awesome bands

september 23rd ill be in phili to see katatonia and opeth, with a signed cd, fuck yes.


its draining my bank account but this is why i saved so much, to be able to do this

got my car thursday! so far its been awesome, besides the lack of bus rides, this thing sneaks up in speed and the ride is smooth. my mood has been better, and i dont feel as stressed despite owing $13k (ugh)

now the saving plan has shifted to making double car payments to get this thing paid off asap. next payment is due the 27th and im already over by $100 so i think this will be a very doable thing.

also- now that i am mobile i can go through my stuff for spring cleaning and return the bags of bottles i have in my basement and all the other billion things ive been meaning to do YAY!

fuck yea!

as of thursday i will have gone over my 5k goal by about $20 and a month early! ill post the stats later but im just excited! sent a few links to cars to dad so hopefully he will help me look at stuff.

month 2 update

2 months in- something has changed, i pushed the end date to the 14th of april since it marks 4 months and is one last paycheck before i go into making car payments.
also i brought $20 from the savings to the bar the other night because i needed to boost my mood so i DID cheat a little on the saving.

heres the stats so far

$33.75 - people have given me a ride to or from work 45 times. it adds up

$34.74- change from groceries. i budget $20 every two weeks but almost never spend it all, yet i eat well

$107.16- left over "fun" money. i budget out $20 each week for fun. if i want chinese food or a beer, im getting it. problem is- i live in CNY and its fucking cold. so alot of this came from me refusing to leave the house, instead i enjoyed the comfort of tea, a blankie, and the wii.


over all savings has reached $4,106.94 in just 2 months. good paychecks and a nice tax return are to blame for the most of it, but again, this blog was to prove that the little things add up, and im doing a good job proving just that.

100 days left

so i have 100 days left to save 5 thousand bucks. so for fun heres some stats so far since ive been keeping track of every penny.

starting out i had $700. from that i took out exactly enough quarters to get me to work and back from day one until april first. only work days are counted in that money. the $700 was the start of my savings that i was planning on dumping into an account to eventually put down on a brand new car in the next few years knowing my 2000 altima was going to die in a few years and that i needed to build credit. dont ever plan ahead, something will come up to fuck up your plans.

$8.25... someone has given me a ride to/from work 11 times. at .75 a bus ride, ive saved $8.25

$18.33... i budget out $25 a week out of each paycheck for fun. this is what i have saved from either not leaving the house, or just the change left over from going out. keep in mind im not missing out or anything, im having alot of fun, im relaxing, im going out and seeing my friends.

in just 18 days i saved 26.58 which dosent sound like alot, but it adds up fast.

using an app on my phone i keep track of all of this, to keep me going. it works well.
the app is a sort of electronic checkbook, i set my goal as my balance, and every time i put money away, i set it as an expense and label it. the result is a display of exactly how much i need to save, how much i have saved and what has contributed to this goal.

in the next 100 days i need to save $3,989.52 and ill get there. till then, im anxiously awaiting tax time, and my monthly $30 jason pays me (difference owed after my cell bill is paid to cover his rent)

once i had a car

cars and plows dont mix. i learned this the hard way. most of you who actually read this are on my facebook too so i wont waste time with details. this has been one clusterfuck of an adventure ill tell ya. stuck inside because of being with out a car is amazing fun. not to mention the blizzard we have going on here.
so ive been sitting around, researching cars and get rich quick schemes.
the whole thing had been up in the air. fix the pos car or rush into a new one.

as you all know i live for challenge. an adventure.

enter my plan. instead of being "poor" for about 3 years im gonna go with out a car for the winter, save the insurance money id spend, save the gas money, the hang out money that i burn through every time i see a tacco bell. save cans in the basement. try to have about 3k to dump on this new car.

jason wont be happy. but he can deal with it. hes too lazy to get his license and relies on me.

the hard part will be getting to derby, but the way thats working out i may just bail now and go back to fresh meat next year anyway. i could use the extra practice.
